Resources for Students
Hello Sheridan students! Ready to dive into MS Teams? This guide will help you get started with Sheridan College’s official communication and collaboration tool.
There are three ways in which you can access Teams. Here’s how:
- Web Browser: You can access MS Teams directly through your web browser without downloading anything. Just log in with your Sheridan account and you’re good to go! However, keep in mind that you won’t receive notifications unless you’re actively using the web app, which means you might miss important meetings or classes.
- Desktop App: For the best experience, we recommend that you download the MS Teams app on your computer. Once installed, sign in with your Sheridan account. This app keeps you logged in and sends reminders for meetings and classes, so you’ll never miss a thing!
- Mobile App: Stay connected on the go by using the MS Teams mobile app. Whether you’re on your phone or tablet, this app lets you sign in with your Sheridan credentials and receive notifications, ensuring you’re always up to date with your meetings and classes.
Wherever possible, we’ll provide step-by-step instructions for using MS Teams on all these platforms—browser, desktop, and mobile so you can choose the one that works best for you. As always, we are here to help you, so you are welcome to email us at: SLATE Help for any additional support you might need.
Get ready to explore the basics of MS Teams in the upcoming sections. Each part will give you a quick summary of the resources covered, so you can easily find what you need, whenever you need it.
Just a heads-up: Some options might look a bit different because Sheridan College uses an educational license. No worries, though—these differences won’t affect your experience.
We have included descriptions, visuals and videos that will provide you with step-by-step guidance on how to use Teams effectively, so you are welcome to choose your learning based on your preferences.
